      Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam occupies the former Shipping House, a 1914 building in the Amsterdam School style rich in maritime symbolism. The hotel preserves original stained glass, carved stone details, and a functioning classic elevator that reflects the building's shipping heritage. A guided history booklet available at reception highlights the architecture's connection to the six shipping companies that once operated here.
